SPAR is an international group of independently owned and operated retailers and wholesalers who work together in partnership under the SPAR Brand to provide a high quality, value for money shopping experience for the communities we serve.
The story of SPAR in the early years is the story of Adriaan van Well, an innovative Dutch wholesaler with a clear vision for the future of SPAR. He was inspired by a simple yet powerful philosophy – independent wholesalers and retailers can achieve more by working together than working alone. It was van Well’s belief that only through collaborative work could the independent sector survive and prosper in the face of increasing competition from multiple chains.
The first SPAR store opened in the Netherlands in 1932. It was originally launched as DESPAR, an acronym of a slogan created by van Well to describe the organisation: Door Eendrachtig Samenwerken Profiteren Allen Regelmatig, which translates into English as: All benefit from joint co-operation.
The business comprises more than 12,000 stores in 42 countries on four continents. The development of SPAR has been underpinned by a set of values that have guided the organisation since its establishment more than 80 years ago. At the heart of these core values is the commitment of SPAR stores worldwide to freshness, choice, quality and service.
In 2017 the international network of SPAR joined Ukraine. January 24 in Kiev «SPAR Ukraine Corporation”, member of the investment group «VolWest Group» and International group «Spar International» signed a cooperation agreement.
SPAR Ukraine to develop trade in 4 formats: Spar Express (convenience store sales area of 200 square meters), Spar (supermarket 200-800 m), EuroSpar (supermarkets 800-3000 m), InterSpar (hypermarkets over 3000 m).
«SPAR Ukraine Corporation” intends in the next few months to open the first supermarket in Rivne.
The strategic plans of investment group “VolWest Group” is a dynamic development and expansion of the network of 50 commercial establishments for 3 years by opening its own stores and franchise SPAR.

NASH KRAJ

Trading network NASH KRAJ is the national operator in the retail market, is the leader in the Ukrainian franchise market, and one of the main investment projects of VolWest Group.
The first store was opened in Rivne (October 20, 2001).
The network is represented in 18 regions of Ukraine and operates in two formats: supermarket and minimarket.
Since 2004 the franchise network is being developed in two formats: “Shop at Home” and “Express”.
According to expert assessments, by the number of newly opened stores the network NASH KRAJ enters the top three Ukrainian FMCG retailers.
In 2002 the Company launched its own Trade Mark NASH KRAJ. The Network presents four Private Labels namely: NASH KRAJ, PANI FANYA and ARIYA, numbering 345 Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) in food and non-food segments. NASH KRAJ network Private Labels are of good quality and at the best price. In 2015 the Network launched its own online product shop. Internet-shop NASH KRAJ is working in 19 cities of Ukraine: Lutsk, Kyiv, Kovel, Kamen-Kashyrskiy, Radyvyliv, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, Drohobych, Chertkov and Chernivtsi, Khmelnytsky, Dolyna, Smila, Boryslav, Nadvirna, Slavuta, Shepetivka, Tulchyn and Starokostyantyniv.

CARAMEL

The Network of Warehouses CARAMEL is a network of sweets warehouses, which offer its customers the best national confectionery at affordable price. The first warehouse was opened in 2016. As of October 1, 2016 the Network operates 10 warehouses including 7 warehouses on franchise basis. CARAMEL presents the assortment of more than 600 kinds of sweets produced by the best Ukrainian confectionery companies.
